Where are the hummingbirds?

Here it is the 9th day of April and although it seems a little unusual, I haven’t seen a hummingbird at my feeders yet.  There is hope however, because I have read reports that the first hummers have already been sited in Alaska!  I am probably just trying to rush spring. http://www.learner.org/jnorth/tm/humm/MigrationAnomalyAk.html

Well, next week is Easter! We have some beautiful pansies to offer you this year-the colors are phenomenal! Put a pretty basket of them out with your welcome mat. I am willing to bet that sometime within the next five days we will see our first hummingbird at our feeders. I have put out some fresh sugar water for them and will anxiously watch for them to take their first drink.  I will then know for sure that spring is here to stay.
